Reports have revealed that Britney Spears’ upcoming memoir has remained unchanged to include details of her separation from husband Sam Asghari. The actor and model, aged 29, officially initiated divorce proceedings from the “Stronger” singer, aged 41, following a 14-month marital period. The divorce documents, submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday (16 August), attribute the split to irreconcilable differences.
This news about their impending divorce has emerged just a few months before the anticipated release of Spears’s memoir, “The Woman In Me,” scheduled for October. While the memoir is expected to encompass Spears’s retrospective views on her career, life, and the years she spent under conservatorship, it appears the narrative will not encompass her parting from Asghari.
According to sources with “direct knowledge,” TMZ has reported that the book will proceed as planned. The publication asserts that Spears granted her final approval to Simon and Schuster, the publishers, two weeks prior, thereby precluding any further alterations.
The Independent has reached out to both Spears’s representatives and Simon and Schuster for comments regarding this matter.
The conclusion of Spears’s marriage with Asghari follows a period of speculative discussions about the couple, who initially met in 2016 and formalized their union in 2022.
Asghari was the first to address the divorce, releasing a statement the day after filing. In his statement, the fitness instructor affirmed his intention to preserve the love and respect that he and Spears share. He additionally called upon the media and the public to exhibit kindness and thoughtfulness.
Subsequently, Asghari turned to his Instagram Stories, where he playfully experimented with filters featuring various hairstyles. In this post, he sought input from his fans to assist him in selecting a “disguise” to evade the intrusive paparazzi.
In a post on Instagram dated Saturday (19 August), Spears personally addressed the separation. She conveyed that she and Hesam (Sam) were no longer a couple. Expressing her emotions, Spears noted that six years of togetherness were considerable, and while she chose not to elaborate on the reasons behind the split, she candidly shared that the emotional pain had become overwhelming. Spears went on to acknowledge the disparity between her curated Instagram presence and the true complexities of her reality, a truth she believes her audience is aware of.
